The CSA may be the single most popular market choice for small growers. There are several reasons why, including ease of set up (you don't even need a website), advance pay from customers, and risk sharing between you and your customers. CSA operators get to decide what crops to grow and when the deliveries will begin and end, and get 100% of the profit without paying a distributor or retailer.

With so much interest in locally grown food, CSAs have exploded. You can also check out online CSAs such as Farmigo or Local Harvest, although these also take a percentage of the sale.
